Once your child has completed their free swimming session and been advised to join, they will then be able to attend their squad’s swimming sessions. (Please see the session times on the ‘Training Schedule’ webpage). You will also be asked to register your details on our online Active Portal and pay the Swim Wales and Torfaen Dolphins annual membership fee. All swimmers must be registered with Swim Wales for insurance purposes and to be able to compete in future swimming competitions.
Dawn, our Membership Secretary will be able to help you throughout the joining process, incase you have any further questions.
Once your child has completed their free swimming trial, and offered a place in one of TD’s squads, you will be asked to set up a monthly standing order to the club for their swimming fees.
Once you are registered on our portal, you will receive an emailed invitation to enter your child in any forthcoming competitions that apply to them. Once logged into your account on the portal, you will then be able to enter them into their chosen races from the list available. If you are not sure which races to enter, speak to your child’s coach for advise. You can also contact our competition Secretary, Eileen on: [email protected] for any further help on how to enter, if needed.
If you need to quickly access you child’s account on the Active portal, then please click here
If you have any concerns about your child’s swimming please speak to their coach either at the beginning or at the end of the session. You can also email either Hayley or Jess, our Welfare officers on: [email protected] or [email protected] if it is of a more a more serious nature.
Please read TD’s Code of Conduct (below) for further guidance.
If you are new to competing it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but the coaches will be there to guide your child through the day. When you attend a competition make sure you bring all the necessary swimming equipment, including an extra towel and club t-shirt to wear between races. Healthy snacks are also very important and plenty of water. Please read the ‘Gala Info. doc’ & ‘First Meet documents below for more information.
All the results are posted on the events page. Just select the competition you want and find the results at the bottom of the information.
There are a variety of TD kit items available and these can be purchased through our online portal. You will be able to try some of the different sizes available on Sunday & Monday evenings at PALC from 5pm at our kit stall. All orders must then be placed online via the portal; however, you will be able to buy TD swimming caps and kit bags from the kit stall. Your order will be delivered to you at training, organised by Cheryl Clayton, our Committee member responsible for kit.
