Torfaen Dolphins is a volunteer based club and without the support of parents and their extended family we would not be able to host swimming galas or help support swimmers when they go on camps. This page is designed to help you decide what role you would like to undertake. You can volunteer to help run the club through a number of executive or committee roles, become a coach or an official or volunteer during one of our galas. Whatever the role you choose, it means that the swimmers can thrive in the water while the activities/competitions runs smoothly around them.
Some roles require course attendance whilst others just need your time. This page will grow into a resource to allow you to choose the role that suites you, but always remember there will be plenty of others around to help you if you are new to the experience.
So you want to be a volunteer
Volunteering at a club gala is probably the first route most choose to become more intimately involved with the club. There is a wide array of essential roles that ensure our club galas run smoothly and efficiently. The link below is a guide to volunteering for club competitions. It outlines what roles are available, what you will be asked to do and the level of preparation needed to undertake the role.
Have a read of the volunteer guidance below by clicking on the link. If you are interested in any of the roles, email the relevant committee member by following the advice in the booklet or speak to one of the committee members during a training session.
So you want to be an official
Do you crave the power of the clipboard? Do you want to gain mastery of the stopwatch? If you want to understand the mysteries of officialdom, have a read of the guidance below or speak to a member of the committee
