Sport is more than competing it’s about comradery and feeling part of a team. Torfaen Dolphins has given this to Dylan and more. The coaches have helped and encouraged Dylan from day one, guiding him from a keen recreational swimmer to now being a member of the Welsh Para swim squad. Dylan’s potential was spotted and developed by the coaching team from an early stage. They showed great patience as they developed his stroke and built his fitness to a stage where he is able to compete on the national and international stage. The close relationship between Dylan and his coaches promotes respect and more importantly confidence that spills over into his personal life. The routine of training, the commitment of coaches to facilitate his will to succeed to his maximum potential and the close friendships developed within the Torfaen squad promotes life skills that will serve him well in later life. Dylan has developed friendships across Wales, UK and more recently internationally through swimming. The coaching staff manage to find the perfect blend of fun and discipline needed for this very competitive sport, as a result Dylan is first out of the door at 5.30 every morning keen to get into the pool.
